1. Breast Cancer Surgery

When breast cancer is diagnosed, surgery is often part of the treatment plan, alongside chemotherapy, radiation therapy and hormone therapy where appropriate.

Total mastectomy, removal of the entire breast
Nipple and skin sparing mastectomy, removal of entire breast tissue while preserving the skin and nipple, combined with a reconstructive procedure
Conventional wide local excision, removal of the tumour and a small margin of healthy tissue
Oncoplastic breast surgery, removal of the tumour with breast tissue rearrangement or replacement with local flaps
Sentinel lymph node biopsy and axillary lymph node surgery

2. Breast Reconstruction

Breast reconstruction restores the shape and appearance of the breast following a mastectomy or lumpectomy, and may be performed at the same time as cancer surgery or at a later stage.
