Understanding the Impact of Gastrointestinal Symptoms on Quality of Life in Patients Clinic in SMCP
The Gastrointestinal Quality of Life Index-10 (GIQLI-10) is a validated patient-reported outcome measure used to quantify symptom burden and functional limitation in gastrointestinal populations.
Our data demonstrates that acute clinical indicators, specifically hematochezia (blood in stool), nausea, and diarrhoea that drive the primary disruption to patient’s quality of life, closely shadowed by dietary restrictions and constipation.
These findings pinpoint great potential for high-impact diagnostic and therapeutic targets, reinforcing Sunway Medical Centre Penang's commitment to patient-centred care, symptom-targeted interventions, and evidence-based gastroenterology practice.
